It’s not always easy knowing where to start or what to say.
How many times should I check in with someone?
If you are worried about somebody, it is important to check in with them but understand these things can take time.
Think of it as planting seeds, the first time you check in, they may not be ready for that conversation but as long as you are continuing to ask in a trusting, comforting and reassuring way, there will come a time when the person you are worried about may be ready.
This can be over the course of a day, a week, a month or a year.
There is no timeframe. Just continue to be there if you can.
Things you can do
- Check in, in a low pressure way
- Be reassuring
- Just continue to be there, if you can
